Job Detail: Azure DevOps Engineer

Description:

Challenging long-term contract role - start before the end of the year! Our client is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to work alongside the software development teams to help deploy applications and to maintain/automate the software infrastructure. They are located just West of the DFW Airport.

They follow a Hybrid schedule - 3 days in office and 2 days WFH.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work alongside the software development team to anticipate/plan ahead for efficient deployments.

• Create, manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines, leveraging appropriate tools to automate testing and deployment.

• Develop tooling and processes to drive and improve customer experience.

• Contribute to designing strategies and solutions for deployment, automation and troubleshooting.

• Setup centralized infrastructure logging, tracing and metrics.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 4+ years of experience with Azure Cloud DevOps

• Familiarity with Jenkins CI, both setup/provisioning and usage. Or other CI/CD pipeline technology.

• Experience using containerization platforms (i.e. Docker), both from an operational and delivery standpoint.

• Experience with distributed version control, (i.e. Git, Mercurial).

• Experience managing projects,  troubleshooting technical issues and working with engineering, development, QA and services teams.

• Experience writing software in one or more languages, such as C#, Python, JavaScript, or other JS Library.

• Experience using Terraform, Microsoft Azure Resource Templates or similar to orchestrate Cloud resource provisioning.

• Working knowledge of one or more configuration management/orchestration platforms

• The DevOps Engineer must have a strong focus and understanding of cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code.

• A clear understanding and experience in the software development lifecycle is key to producing new applications, all upgrades and enhancements.
