Job Title: Data Engineer - Hybrid (3/2) | Greenspoint Area

Our client, a leading organization in the Greenspoint area of Houston (must be a Houston resident), is looking for a strong Data Engineer to join their team. This is a hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 remote), offering the opportunity to work on impactful projects in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data replication strategies to move transactional data into the data lake, ensuring optimal reporting access and minimal load times.
• Develop data models using SSIS ETL processes across multiple SQL Server-based systems, including ERP, MRP, web applications, and accounting systems.
• Analyze and optimize existing stored procedures to extract business logic for reporting.
• Improve data structures to enhance reporting efficiency and minimize redundancy.
• Work closely with Data Analysts to understand reporting requirements.
• Guide reporting specialists in developing Power BI reports using structured data from the warehouse.
• Develop and maintain departmental Power BI dashboards as needed.
• Monitor and optimize the health and performance of all data analytics systems.
• Manage user roles and permissions within Power BI Service, Power Platform, and Power BI Report Server.
• Support the infrastructure and expansion of data analytics systems.
• Develop and document best practices for data management and reporting.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

• 4 or more years of experience in Data Engineering
• 4 or more years working with SSMS
• 3 or more years of experience with SSIS
• 3 or more years working with Microsoft Power Platform
• 3 or more years of experience in data modeling, stored procedures, and ETL
• Experience in data analytics system performance analysis
• Hands on experience with PowerShell, Python, R, or other data automation tools
• Experience with Azure/Data Factory
