Senior Landman
Walker Elliott is working with private upstream oil and gas company in Houston, is seeking an experienced Landman with Gulf of Mexico expertise, specifically in decommissioning and plug & abandonment (P&A). This role will be critical in managing regulatory compliance, coordinating with government agencies, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders throughout the decommissioning process.
Responsibilities:
- Manage land-related aspects of offshore decommissioning projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
- Work directly with government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee plug & abandonment obligations and coordinate with internal teams to execute decommissioning plans.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, finance, and operations teams to support asset retirement and liability management.
- Review and negotiate agreements related to decommissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to offshore leases, contracts, and regulatory filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Landman in the Gulf of Mexico, with a strong focus on decommissioning and P&A.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies such as BOEM, BSEE, and other federal/state entities.
- Strong understanding of offshore lease obligations, rights, and liabilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
