Description:
Our client, a Dallas-based private energy company, is seeking an experienced Geo/Engineering Analyst to support both the geology and engineering teams. This role is pivotal in evaluating acquisitions, managing technical databases, and generating high-quality maps and presentations. If you have a strong background in geotechnical or engineering analysis and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquisition Support: Assist in technical evaluations by integrating and analyzing bank and seller data, preparing ArcGIS maps, and maintaining Petra projects.
- Data Management: Ensure data integrity and organization across geologic and engineering databases, including ARIES and ComboCurve.
- Mapping & Analysis: Develop and maintain maps to track assets, target basins, and acreage transactions; perform performance analysis for deal evaluations.
- Technical Support: Assist with reserve category assessments, engineering evaluations, and comparative analyses to support asset management decisions.
- Presentation Development: Compile data and create high-quality graphics and reports for internal and external reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in a geotechnical or engineering analyst role, with a strong focus on geology.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, Petra, MS Office, Enverus, TGS, S&P (IHS) is required.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for data rooms and industry conferences.
Preferred Skills:
- 3+ years of acquisitions experience in upstream oil & gas.
- Experience working in the Permian Basin and other U.S. onshore basins.
- Familiarity with ARIES, Access, SQL databases, and Spatial Analyst.
- Strong understanding of industry terminology and best practices.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while supporting multiple functions.
