Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Our client, a leader in automation is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who's passionate about quality and automation. This new hire will build and maintain automated test frameworks, ensuring the software is reliable, scalable, and bug-free. The work is cross-functional with  developers, product managers, and QA team members in an agile environment-balancing hands-on coding with collaborative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable, reliable automated test frameworks using C# and related tools.

• Write test cases for UI and API layers; automate functional, regression, and integration tests.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).

• Work alongside developers to validate new features early in the development cycle.

• Help track down tricky bugs-file, document, and follow through to resolution.

• Participate in code reviews for test automation and support troubleshooting when needed.

• Contribute to agile ceremonies and support quality-first thinking across the team.

• Mentor others on automation best practices and continuously look for ways to improve.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field-or equivalent hands-on experience.

• More than 3 years in a QA/SDET role focused on C# automation in a Windows environment.

• Strong C#/.NET Core or .NET Framework development experience.

• Solid experience with UI automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or WinAppDriver.

• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or REST Assured.

• Familiar with NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.

• Comfortable using Git and version control workflows.

• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and a solid grasp of SDLC and QA best practices.

Role is onsite (in Clear Lake) at first with some flexible hybrid after 90 day period.
