Job Detail: Asset Reservoir Engineer

Description:

A privately held upstream group company in Houston is looking for a Reservoir/Asset Engineer to join their growing technical team. This is a high-visibility role that blends acquisitions and divestitures (A&D) work with hands-on reservoir engineering. Ideal for an engineer who enjoys both evaluating deals and optimizing active assets.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation of upstream acquisition opportunities through production forecasting, type curve generation, decline analysis, and economic modeling

• Contribute to field development planning and reserves management across existing operated assets

• Prepare A&D materials including engineering summaries, asset valuations, and due diligence support

• Collaborate with geology, land, and finance teams to ensure consistent technical and commercial assessments

• Maintain and manage reserves databases and present findings to management and partners

• Apply analytical tools (e.g., ARIES, PHDwin, or ComboCurve) for technical and economic evaluations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field

• 8+ years of E&P experience, including direct involvement in both A&D evaluations and reservoir/asset management

• Strong economic modeling, reserves, and forecasting background

• Solid understanding of unconventional resource development and production analysis

• Proficiency in common industry software

• Excellent communication skills-able to synthesize technical data into actionable business decisions
