Description:
Walker Elliott is recruiting for a Senior Production Engineer to join our oil and gas client in Houston. The Senior Production Engineer will play a key role in maximizing production performance and optimizing operating costs across a growing portfolio of gas assets. This individual will work closely with subsurface, operations, facilities, and leadership teams to drive production optimization, troubleshooting, and value creation. The ideal candidate brings hands-on gas experience in East Texas (ETX), North Louisiana (NLA), or the Marcellus Shale.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize production performance across operated gas assets
- Identify and execute production enhancement opportunities, including artificial lift optimization, well interventions, and workovers
- Diagnose well performance issues and lead troubleshooting efforts to restore or improve production
- Partner with operations, subsurface, and facilities teams to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective field execution
- Develop and track production forecasts, decline analyses, and performance metrics
- Support development planning and operational readiness as new assets are integrated
- Provide technical input for capital allocation, budgeting, and economic evaluations
- Assist with production-related due diligence and integration for acquisitions, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of upstream production engineering experience
- Strong gas-focused production engineering background
- Direct experience in ETX, NLA, and/or Marcellus Shale-MUST
- Hands-on experience with production optimization, artificial lift, and well diagnostics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, PE-backed environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
