Senior A&D/M&A Engineer-full time and onsite

Walker Elliott is partnering with a highly respected, privately held investment firm seeking a Senior A&D/M&A Engineer to join its growing energy investment team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial thinking while evaluating upstream and midstream investment opportunities. This role will play a key part in the technical assessment of acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. The individual will work closely with investment professionals to evaluate opportunities, identify technical and commercial risks, and provide recommendations that influence investment decisions. In addition to transaction work, this person will support the ongoing evaluation and monitoring of existing portfolio investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical evaluations of upstream and midstream acquisition and investment opportunities.
  • Build production forecasts, type curves, and engineering models to support underwriting and valuation.
  • Assess reserves, production performance, operating costs, capital requirements, and development plans.
  • Evaluate midstream assets and commercial agreements, including gathering, processing, transportation, and related contracts.
  • Partner with the investment team to provide technical recommendations and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Support ongoing portfolio monitoring and help improve technical evaluation processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of upstream and/or midstream oil & gas experience.
  • Strong background in reservoir, production, reserves, A&D, or corporate development.
  • Experience evaluating upstream assets and a solid understanding of midstream operations and commercial agreements.
  • Proficiency with ARIES, PHDWin, ComboCurve, or similar engineering software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
