Production Engineer, hybrid, Houston
Our client is a financially strong, publicly traded upstream oil and gas company known for operational excellence, disciplined capital allocation, and a collaborative engineering culture. With a high-quality asset base and an active development program, this is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced technical teams while making a direct impact on production performance and field operations. They are seeking a Production Engineer to support the optimization and long-term performance of operated assets through production surveillance, artificial lift optimization, workover planning, and close collaboration with field operations.

Responsibilities
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve well productivity and cash flow.
- Optimize artificial lift systems, including gas lift, rod pumps, plunger lift, ESPs, and other lift methods.
- Analyze production trends, investigate well performance issues, and develop workover recommendations.
- Support new well flowback, startup activities, and ongoing production optimization.
- Partner with field operations to troubleshoot equipment, improve reliability, and enhance overall field performance.
- Prepare engineering evaluations, AFEs, production forecasts, and operational recommendations.
- Track operating expenses, production metrics, and key performance indicators.
- Support acquisition evaluations and other technical projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of production or completions engineering experience within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of unconventional reservoir development and production operations.
- Experience optimizing artificial lift systems and production performance.
- Familiarity with upstream production facilities, compression systems, and field operations.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
