Job Detail: Financial Associate

Description:

Walker Elliott is working with a private equity backed E&P group with a large asset base in Texas. They are in growth mode and seeking a Financial Associate. They are offering a competitive cash comp along with equity in the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed financial, operational, and technical evaluations of upstream oil and gas assets and companies in support of acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investment decisions.

• Build, maintain, and own sophisticated financial models used to evaluate corporate M&A, asset acquisitions, capital allocation opportunities, and financing alternatives.

• Lead valuation and due diligence efforts utilizing methodologies including discounted cash flow (DCF), net asset value (NAV), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.

• Prepare investment memoranda, executive presentations, and recommendations for the CFO, executive leadership, and Board.

• Gain exposure to corporate treasury activities, including liquidity planning, capital structure analysis, debt management, cash flow forecasting, lender relationships, and financing strategy.

• Support corporate planning, portfolio management, and other cross-functional projects as the company continues to grow.

Requirements

• Experience in energy investment banking is required, preferably within an upstream oil and gas coverage group.

• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with experience evaluating upstream asset acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate M&A transactions.

• Proven ability to analyze complex investment opportunities and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.

• Highly analytical, self-motivated, and interested in expanding beyond traditional investment banking into a broader corporate finance role.
