Senior Human Resources Generalist
Location: Northwest Houston / Champions Area
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Work Schedule: Onsite
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to provide hands-on HR support for a busy Houston operation. This position will work directly with employees and management and will be responsible for employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, manager coaching, and day-to-day human resources activities.
This is an onsite position requiring someone who is comfortable being highly visible and accessible to employees and managers. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a large employee population in a fast-paced environment and will be confident handling complex and sensitive employee matters independently.
Responsibilities

Serve as the primary onsite HR resource for employees, supervisors, and managers.

Provide guidance to management on employee relations, performance, attendance, workplace conduct, and other personnel matters.

Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate courses of action.

Manage performance-related issues, including coaching, documentation, performance improvement plans, and corrective action.

Coach managers on effective leadership, employee communication, conflict resolution, and performance management.

Ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently across the organization.

Provide guidance regarding company policies, employment practices, and applicable employment laws.

Identify employee relations, retention, engagement, and workforce issues and work with leadership to address them proactively.

Partner with corporate HR, legal, and other internal resources on complex or sensitive employee matters.

Support organizational changes and communicate HR programs and initiatives to employees and management.

Assist with employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture initiatives.

Monitor workforce trends and provide management with recommendations to improve employee performance and effectiveness.

Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality related to employee matters.

Support HR programs and processes throughout the employee lifecycle.

Assist with onsite employee events, meetings, and workplace initiatives.

Provide limited support for office operations and facility-related matters as needed.
Requirements

6+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.

Strong background in employee relations and performance management.

Experience conducting employee investigations and handling sensitive workplace issues.

Demonstrated ability to coach and advise supervisors and mid-level managers.

Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.

Experience supporting a fast-paced, high-volume, or highly regulated workforce.

Ability to independently manage multiple employee relations matters and competing priorities.

Strong judgment and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
-
Ability to work effectively with employees and managers at different levels of an organization.

Experience supporting healthcare, insurance, contact center, customer service, or other large frontline employee populations is preferred.

Experience partnering with legal counsel or specialized corporate HR teams is preferred.

Change management and employee engagement experience is a plus.
-
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Previous office or facilities coordination experience is helpful but not required.

Must be able to work onsite daily in the Champions/Northwest Houston area.
Ideal Background
The strongest candidate will be an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and working directly with managers and employees. This person should be comfortable addressing difficult employee situations, coaching managers through performance concerns, conducting investigations, and balancing employee needs with business requirements.
This position is well suited for someone who has worked in a large onsite operation such as a contact center, healthcare organization, insurance company, corporate service center, or other environment with a significant frontline employee population.
