Description:
A publicly traded E&P company in Houston is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant as it enters an exciting stage of growth and expands its accounting team. This is a high-visibility opportunity offering challenging work, exposure to the CFO and VPs, and a strong path toward future management roles.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Assist with SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and related disclosures.
- Support technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, leases and successful efforts accounting.
- Assist with full-cycle oil & gas accounting including depletion, impairments, capital vs. expense and derivatives.
- Support external audits, SOX compliance and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA required.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Public accounting and/or oil & gas experience.
- Big 4 candidates are encouraged, particularly those who have demonstrated strong career progression.
- Strong technical accounting skills with a self-starter mentality and willingness to learn.
