Landman, Energy Investments-remote
Walker Elliott is working with a growing energy investment company is seeking a Landman, remote and full time position, to join its team as the company continues to expand its acquisition and investment activities. This is a highly autonomous role for a hands-on, entrepreneurial land professional who enjoys more than traditional land administration. The Landman will work closely with senior leadership and play an important role in identifying, evaluating, and advancing new opportunities. The company is looking for someone who can become a key resource for all things land and deal flow — someone who can identify opportunities, perform due diligence, build relationships, and help move transactions from an initial lead through closing.
This is an opportunity to take on a high-impact land role within a growing energy investment platform. Rather than being limited to traditional land administration, you'll have visibility into the full deal lifecycle and work directly with senior leadership. The right individual will have significant ownership of their work and the opportunity to help shape the company's land and acquisition capabilities as it grows.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct title research, title review, and land due diligence related to potential acquisitions and investments
- Identify and develop new acquisition and investment opportunities
- Source leads through broker relationships, industry contacts, landowner outreach, and other channels
- Build and maintain a strong network of land brokers, landowners, operators, and industry contacts
- Conduct direct outreach to landowners and other stakeholders to identify potential opportunities
- Evaluate opportunities from the initial lead through transaction, identifying key land and title considerations
- Review leases, mineral interests, ownership records, contracts, and other land-related documentation
- Develop and maintain internal and external land relationships and resources
- Partner closely with company leadership to evaluate opportunities and determine next steps
- Assist with acquisitions, divestitures, and other land-related transactions

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Energy, Business, Real Estate, or a related field
- Strong professional background in oil and gas land work
- Well-rounded understanding of title, ownership, due diligence, and land transactions
- Experience evaluating potential opportunities and identifying issues that may impact a transaction
- Comfortable developing relationships with brokers, landowners, and other industry professionals
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities rather than simply respond to assignments
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable operating in a high-autonomy, growth-oriented environment
- Ability to think commercially and understand the connection between land, transactions, and investment opportunities
