Walker Elliott is partnering with an established upstream oil and gas company seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to lead the design, construction, and optimization of production facilities supporting U.S. natural gas operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive upstream facilities engineering experience, including High-Pressure, High-Temperature (HPHT) natural gas assets, capital project execution, and operational support.

Location: Candidates may initially work in Houston, TX, but eventual relocation to Oklahoma City, OK, is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead facilities projects from scope development and design through cost estimating, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Manage new facility construction and upgrades, ensuring projects meet budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering, Operations, HSE, Land, and Procurement to execute infrastructure plans.
• Drive facility standardization across company assets to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide technical troubleshooting and optimization support for daily operations.
• Support normal operations, shutdowns, emergencies, and facility start-up activities.
• Provide technical leadership to construction teams, engineering contractors, and vendors.
• Monitor project progress, track costs, and reconcile expenditures against forecasts.
• Ensure regulatory and HSE compliance while supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, and process safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or related Engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of upstream facilities engineering experience.
• Must have direct HPHT experience with U.S. natural gas assets.
• Strong knowledge of natural gas production facilities, surface equipment, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience managing capital projects, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Background supporting field operations, troubleshooting, and facility optimization.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, regulatory requirements, and process safety standards.
• Willingness to eventually relocate to Oklahoma City, OK.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with high-pressure gas production facilities, gathering systems, compression, and separation equipment.
• Background working directly for a U.S. upstream natural gas operator.
• Experience with facility standardization, cost optimization, and reliability improvements.
• Familiarity with process simulations, equipment sizing, and piping design.
